Z DAWG SERIES - THE SCREAMING WITCH OF OLDE SALEM VILLAGE

The third book in the Z-Dawg series finds Zack in attack mode again. Zack and Grandpa are living in a haunted apartment building, high on a hill, in a place that was once Ground Zero for the witch trials held in 1692. Then, in 1874, The Danvers State Mental Hospital was built on this exact spot! This place is haunted. Dead bodies have been callously tossed into unmarked graves after torturous experiments done to them at the hospital. There is screaming and moaning coming from the walls and floorboards of the condominium, where 14 year old Bridget Bradshaw, and her mom live. Bridget is a descendant of Sarah Bradshaw, who was accused of witchcraft by John Hathorne. Hathorne placed a curse on her family for all eternity. Then, her great, great, grandmother, also Sarah Bradshaw, was tortured in the mental hospital because of a horrible secret that she carried to her grave. Bridget and her mom need help. How will Z-Dawg help reverse the curse and set the tortured spirits free after 300 years? Evil resides in this dark place, at Ground Zero!

Illustration

Our illustrators offer full color detailed or outline as well as black and white detailed or outline; cartoon or realistic illustrations. We will discuss your work with you. To do that we will request a manuscript of your work to be used in illustrations, cover design, and copy layout. After listening to you, we will provide you with options designed for your projected audience. Our top shelf illustrators will produce illustrations and book cover to your specifications. Final decisions always rest with the author.

Cover Design

It is true what they say: You can judge a book by its cover! This is so critical. Your cover is the first thing someone will notice. You have only a few seconds to encourage the potential reader/buyer to pick up your book. The design quality of the back cover is your next big choice. The words you choose will determine to place there will determine whether the reader/buyer opens the book. We will assist you in developing the story synopsis that will appear on the back cover. This will be the second thing the potential reader will read after the cover design. We will assist you in creating chapter titles. That is the third thing the reader looks at after the book synopsis. Final decisions always rest with the author.

Copy Editing

We can provide review of your manuscript for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. This is always best done before your book is printed. It is never best to wait until others tell you of these errors. You then are fixing the problem at a substantial additional cost to you, or having to “live with it” both costly choices, both financially and to your integrity as a writer. Final decisions always rest with the author.

Examples of
Types of Books Developed

Following you will find some examples of what we can provide for your manuscript. You can select from hundreds of font types and sizes and colors. We can explore the trim size of your book
as well as line spacing and dozens of other options.

The first example you will see is titled “Samson Saves the Sneakers”. This is an example of an early
reader with a color cover and black and white interior with some illustrations.

The second example is titled "Touching the Soul: Connecting Through Poetry”. You see examples poems laid out with the assistance of graphic art. All artwork found here is not copyrighted and obtainable at no cost.

The third example titled “Hugs from the Heart” is a compilation of short stories written by various friends
and acquaintances that describe experiences they had with Grandchildren. Again,
all pictures are provided or obtained from not copyrighted sources, saving
much money.

Our fourth example of
types of writing we develop is an illustrated
book series for beginning readers titled “The Trouble with the Dungeon” is done with engaging color illustrations
and a fun story. Though this cost more in creating illustrations and in printing,
sometimes the need for this investment is worth the expense.

We can provide the layout of the chapters as well as font style, font size, line/paragraph spacing, table of contents etc. We can also suggest the placement of internal illustrations should there be any. There are many details associated with printing your book. We will assist you with the questions that need to be asked. We will provide guidance on the choices that you need to make. Final decisions always rest with the author.

Printing

You may select from On-Demand soft cover or hard cover print, all in various sizes. You have choice of gloss or matte cover as well as white or beige page stock. You will receive a proof of your book before we establish a print run. Our printer uses quality page stock. The proof can be in digital format or in hard copy. We strongly recommend approving a hard copy. We believe that you need to see and feel the “real deal”. Once you approve the proof, then you decide on the number of books you want printed. You can have a print run of 1 or a print run of 10,000, or anything in between. Final decisions always rest with the author.

Associated needs

We can obtain your 9 digit and 13 digit ISBN and your LCCN (Library of Congress Control Number) and your copyright. We strongly urge that you own the copyright, ISBN and LCCN. We will search the availability of your book title. If someone else owns the book title, you cannot. We will arrange for the bar code to be developed and placed on the back cover. This is needed for sales. We will develop the copyright page.
